Today, the final enrollment for the live workshop How To Make A Decision 2.0 closes at 5 pm pt. It’s going to be deep, good, weird, and it will help you a ton around making decisions—especially if you’ve been in freeze or overwhelm for a while. The replay will be available next week, for those seeing this later.
This week, my sweetheart took me on an Equinox date to see André 3000 perform. It was the perfect way to mark this time portal, witnessing and enjoying the work of someone who pivoted dramatically in their creative interests and outputs.
André spoke to the audience a few times, and what they said was as resonant to me as receiving the music was.
None of us know what we are doing, he said.
We get on the stage every night and don’t know what’s going to happen.
I just try to be honest, which is what is important to me.
I get to come up here every night and play.
He spoke about how everything has a very small start.
Grand things always start out small.
They begin as a whisper, like him and Big Boi sitting in their basement in high school, watching rap videos, and wondering…what if we just tried?
Just try it.
A whisper.
Just try it.
He spoke about how his flute obsession began, as something that simply felt so good to do, and how it grew as he noticed the power of the flute’s vibration, something which stopped the babies cry, and made grown men shed tears.
Years later, a casual chance (yet kismet) meeting in a grocery store with Carlos Niño turned into a fully formed project.
The music was listening to us. It asked us to be present.
It reflected our energy back to us.
It asked us to merge with it, give it energy, give it life.
It was the perfect kick-off and reminder for spring, and a perfect encapsulation of Aries energy. I was reminded that we never really know what we are doing, and that seeing life as improv, a space of both/and, paying attention to what is in front of us as much as paying attention to what is inside us, fervently wanting to be witnessed, break out, and followed, is always a strategy that spiritually wins.
Where is the whisper inside that urges you forward to just try it?
You don’t need to know exactly how something might turn out.
It just needs to feel good, healing, interesting. It only needs to create resonance within and without. It only has to create new pathways, up through hard surfaces, watered by sunlight and clouds.
The flip season of spring is autumn: decay, compost, death, and destruction. This is the subtle underpinning of this season, and the grey, start, grieving themes of autumn may ring as true as the themes of growth, green, and new life. if it is time for you to continue a compost process, a death process—of self-concept, expectations, attachments, or other psychic purges, trust that.
Keep releasing, keep surrendering. Only now, remember to add in sprinkles of new life, experimentation, new energies, new words, new approaches.
Remember that old versions can still be new. Small tweaks are still newness. Different counts as new.
May this spring give you deeper deaths that lead to new lives.
Deeper depths that grant you more love.
May you be loving enough with yourself to not know what is going to happen, but get up on stage anyway.
Foolish enough to leap somewhere you’ve needed and wise enough to have no expectations.
May you be quiet enough to hear any and all urgent whispers, and may you be brave enough to act upon them.
Happy Spring!

Links that feel like spring.
“My goal is to be better 3 weeks from now.” Love this promo piece from J Cole…and the opening intention. Can that be your spring time goal around something? Can this goal loosen something perfectionist or fearful inside of you?
You Have To Start Where You Are. A super generous (and true!) share. From Elise Loehnen, whose pod/substack I just discovered, and who’s book is now on my to read list.
Epistle. Loom put out a new release and I couldn’t be more excited to hear the whole album.
Wake Up Grow Up Clean Up Show Up. People were really into this one and I’m here for it! Tune in for your post-enlightened, spiritual growth plan.
If you can see this project touring, by all means, do. <3
